Purpose of the Role
The Governance Counsel is responsible for timely secretariat administration and governance support to the Chief Executive to ensure the organisation meets its legal obligations. This role a key position for providing secretarial support to organisations Council. This role will also act as an advisory service to the Chief Executive on regulations and procedures in relation to Board matters.
Our client is looking for a switched-on law graduate with an excellent understanding of governance concepts and practices, law firm experience, and experience with corporate governance would be ideal. You will excel at building relationships, have a strong sense of professionalism and confidentiality, be a strategic thinker with keen analytical skills. You will be confident with the ability write for different audiences and a good communicator with those at an executive level. Your work style is proactive, adaptable, collaborative, effectively manage competing demands, and willing to acquire knowledge to enhance your own practice.

A 12-month fixed term opportunity for a skilled professional with governance counsel experience reporting directly to the Chief Executive, working from the office of the Chief Executive, based in Palmerston North.
